Lueder, Larkin & Hunter, LLC Expands Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Community Association Practices with Three New Partners in Charleston, South Carolina
Lueder, Larkin & Hunter announced a significant expansion of its Workers’ Compensation & Subrogation Practice with the hiring of three new partners in the Charleston office. The group brings with it considerable knowledge and experience defending claims under the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act, War Hazards Compensation Act and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. Additionally, the group brings all-encompassing experience in defending admiralty, community association and general liability claims.
The new partners are Vincent C. Northcutt, Brian P. McElreath, and Ransome H. Helmly. Vince joins us from Howser, Newman, & Besley, LLC, and both Brian and Randy join us from Luzuriaga Mims, LLP.

Partner Biographies
Vince’s practice is concentrated on representing employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, mutual indemnity associations, self-insured funds, captive insurance programs, and uninsured employers on workers’ compensation claims arising under the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. Vince is also a Certified Mediator.
Vince was born in Charleston, South Carolina, South Carolina, he is a 1999 graduate of Clemson University (B.A. History, magna cum laude).
Brian’s practice primarily focuses on Longshore, Defense Base Act and War Hazard Compensation Act claims and workers’ compensation and subrogation claims, and he also handles general liability and insurance coverage matters throughout Georgia and South Carolina. Brian represents a variety of employers, manufacturers, shipping companies, stevedoring companies, shipyards, and staffing companies both skilled and non-skilled, both self-insured and those with insurance carriers, group associations and third-party administrators. Brian litigates claims nationwide and enjoys an A.V. Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubble.
Brian was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina, Brian came to Charleston to attend the Charleston School of Law, where he was a member of the Maritime Law Bulletin and obtained his J.D. after receiving a B.A. in monetary economics and finance in a joint degree program from North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
Randy’s practice is primarily dedicated to general liability litigation, business litigation, and defending workers compensation claims under the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. Over the course of his career, Randy has represented clients in matters ranging from basic automobile accidents to partnership dissolutions. He has successfully tried cases to verdict in multiple courts in South Carolina and appeared before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission on behalf of employers, self-insureds, and insurance carriers. Randy’s diverse blend of experience enables him to provide clients valuable insight into both the procedural and practical aspects of litigation and develop case-specific strategies to attain the best results possible.
Randy is admitted to practice in both State and Federal Courts of South Carolina, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Self-Insurer’s Association, the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association and the South Carolina Maritime Association.
