Tom Patterson completed his undergraduate education at Auburn University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon. He then received his Juris Doctor degree in 1998 from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a member of the Farrah Law Society. Following law school, Tom worked as in-house counsel for a southeast regional bank holding company, and went on to work for an Atlanta litigation firm, where he represented the State of Georgia as special assistant attorney general before the Office of Administrative Courts. Tom subsequently practiced workers’ compensation defense with a large Birmingham firm, where he defended employers and insurers throughout the state of Alabama.

Tom is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Alabama and Georgia, including the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Alabama, as well as the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, the Alabama Defense Lawyers’ Association, the Defense Research Institute, where he serves on the Lawyers’ Professionalism and Ethics Committee and also the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Organization.
