Susan joins Lueder, Larkin & Hunter as a Partner in the Charleston office. Her practice primarily focuses on state and federal workers’ compensation, including concurrent jurisdiction claims arising under the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.
Susan enjoys representing a variety of employers involved in the maritime, hospitality, and staffing industries, all while keeping in mind policies and practices to help reduce work-related accidents and associated expenses. Susan has experience litigating longshore claims nationwide, and she enjoys the opportunity to advocate for her clients throughout the entire claims process, including general counseling.
Susan is a 2011 graduate of Clemson University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Management. While attending Clemson, she spent a semester studying International Finance and Art History in Barcelona, Spain. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate degree from Charleston School of Law in 2014. While in law school, Susan was a member of Resolved: Journal of Alternative Dispute Resolution, as well as the Business Law Society and Women in Law. She also interned for the late Honorable Sol Blatt, Jr., Senior U.S. District Judge, and The Honorable Justice Kaye G. Hearn of the South Carolina Supreme Court. Upon graduating from law school, Susan served as a law clerk to The Honorable Benjamin H. Culbertson in the 15th Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Prior to joining Lueder, Larkin, & Hunter, Susan practiced both state and federal workers’ compensation defense for nearly 8 years in Charleston, SC.
Susan is originally from Conway, South Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, and cheering on the Clemson Tigers.
