Joseph C. Larkin serves as litigation counsel for community associations, individuals, and companies of all sizes in all phases of civil litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Joe has participated in litigation involving community association law, premises liability, general liability, professional liability, construction defect, insurance, business litigation, and real estate. A substantial part of Joe’s business litigation practice involves contract disputes, corporate governance, and shareholder/member disputes.
Joe focuses his approach on quick, cost-effective case resolution and is adept at utilizing cost-benefit analysis to help clients determine if a claim should be litigated or settled. He also provides risk management services, advising clients on measures they can take to help prevent litigation or to best position themselves to defend claims that arise. Based on insights gained in defending numerous liability and negligence claims, Joe is able to quickly identify potential issues in a particular case and provide the client with a good sense of where the case is headed. Whether the client’s interests are best served by early case resolution or trial, Joe is equipped to handle all aspects of litigation from inception through resolution.
Joe Larkin graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management. As an undergraduate, Joe was a presidential scholar, was a member of the Management Honor’s Fraternity, Sigma Iota Epsilon, and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, pre-law fraternity. Joe earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Georgia State University College of Law. While attending law school, Joe was Lead Articles Associate Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review, where he authored a Note and published two works of Georgia legislative history. Joe was also a student attorney at the Georgia State College of Law Tax Clinic. Joe currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Chapter of Community Association Institute, and is the Magazine Committee liaison. Joe’s primary area of practice is community association law, insurance defense, litigation, and collections.
